'}};Royston Drenthe has pointed his finger at Leo Messi. The Everton player declared that he has always had problems with the Argentinean international in an interview with a Dutch magazine. Although he fell short of branding him a racist, Drenthe revealed that Messi called him "negro" on several occasions during games where the two players met on the pitch.
"I’ve played against Leo Messi lots of times and there have always been problems between us. You know what got to me the most? That he always called me 'negro'," Drenthe told Dutch magazine 'NUsport'. "I had a bit of an altercation with him when I played for Hércules. Messi shook my hand in the game and said 'Hi, negro' to me several times," he explained.
