*WARNING: Spoilers ahead for Ginny & Georgia season 2*
Ever since Ginny & Georgia arrived on Netflix in February 2021, there have been plenty of questions raised about Georgia Miller’s criminal past.
Those questions don’t go away in season 2 as the new episodes continue to shed more light on her shady actions as fresh crimes are revealed including her unexpected murder of Tom Fuller, which is depicted during episodes 8 and 9.
Georgia has an alarming history of murder but it has only been in instances where she or her family have been threatened which has left many wondering why Georgia would kill Tom.
Georgia kills Tom Fuller in Ginny & Georgia
During episode 8 of Ginny & Georgia season 2, we see Austin playing hide-and-seek with his friend, Zach Fuller, whose father, Tom, is terminally ill and is lying unconscious on what is expected to be his death bed.
As part of the game, Austin chooses to hide in a wardrobe in Tom’s room and watches through a crack in the door as he sees Georgia enter and take a pillow from behind Tom’s head.
Moments later, we hear Tom’s heart monitor flat line before Georgia calls to Tom’s wife, Cynthia, to confirm that his time has come and that he’s passed away.
In episode 9, more context is revealed about the scene, and we see the incident from Georgia’s perspective as she takes the pillow and smothers Tom with it to kill him.
Why did Georgia kill Tom Fuller?
By killing Tom, Georgia believes that she is helping to end Tom, Cynthia and their son Zach’s collective suffering and allowing them to move on.
Just before Georgia decides to end Tom’s life, she has a heartfelt conversation with Cynthia during which the latter confides in Georgia that it’s been incredibly hard to see her husband suffering in such a state and that she wants the ordeal to be over.
She also says that she wants Zach to remember his father how he used to be and not in the bedridden state he’s in now.
Georgia believes that she is helping to end the whole Fuller family’s suffering by killing Tom and does the deed with good intentions.
Georgia gets arrested for his murder
While Georgia’s intentions for killing Tom are arguably good and noble, that’s not what the law and private investigator Gabriel Cordova see.
When Cordova learns that Georgia was present when Tom passed away, he immediately suspects she was involved, which culminates in her arrest in episode 10.
In the last scene of the season 2 finale, during Georgia’s wedding to Mayor Paul Randolph, Cordova bursts in with several police officers and has her arrested for Tom’s murder.
Agonizingly, that’s where the season ends, so we won’t know what consequences Georgia will face until Ginny & Georgia returns for a potential third season.
Season 2 of Ginny & Georgia is available to stream now on Netflix after releasing on January 5, 2023.
